Let's reimagine a future without violence .... TOGETHER
Light a candle with us on October 29 as we come together virtually to honor survivors and remember those who lost their lives to intimate partner violence.
We have been gathering together for 23 years to bring awareness to the impact of domestic and intimate partner violence on lives — and the generations that follow. While the format of our annual tradition must change this year — our ability to be together has not.
This year, we hope to bring more more people than ever before to our virtual Vigil. ELAWC has been selected to be part of the Creating Space Fall Festival hosted by ReImagine, a non-profit organization sparking community-driven festivals and conversations that explore death and celebrate life.
We are excited to share our amazing lineup for our virtual gathering this year, which starts at the Mural of La Virgen De Guadalupe, followed by
Remarks by ELAWC Embajadora de Paz, Actress, Melinna Bobadilla
Indigenous Ceremony with Danza Azteca Xochipilli
Music performances by Grammy-awarding winning Martha Gonzales of Quetzal and Vaneza Mari Calderon of La Victoria Mariachi Trio and Pablo Mendez, World Folk Violinist
Testimonials by survivors — and members of the community
Guest Speakers -- ELAWC Spokesperson, Actress Constance Marie, Jerry Tello Founder of the National Compadres Network and Richard Zaldívar, Founder of The Wall Las Memorias Project
Spoken word by Angela Aguirre (Millennial Mija)
