For over 27 years, I have been part of East Los Angeles Women’s Center.

I started by completing the sexual assault certification training to become a volunteer, not knowing how much this work would change my life. I began as a hotline specialist, later became a volunteer coordinator, and today serve as the Director of Sexual Assault Services.

My heart is here, with this community and with the survivors who trust us enough to share their stories. ELAWC is truly the place where your silence is heard.

This year is especially meaningful. I am honored to be the face of the ELAWC 2026 Invincible Campaign in recognition of Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM), as we celebrate our 50th Anniversary year.

I am deeply grateful for every volunteer we have trained over the past five decades. They are the reason we can be there for survivors, answering hotline calls and responding to hospital visits during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
