SAAM 2022

Every year ELAWC partners with local community organizations and college campuses to raise awareness and educate the community on Sexual Assault.

This year we are excited to  expand our programming with hybrid events.  We look forward to bring a number of workshops, film screenings and thought -provoking discussions you can join from the comfort of your home, your phone device, or in person at INVINCIBLE—a Free Immersive Multi-Media Experience to Spotlight Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) at East LA College Campus on April 28th

2) Follow our social media campaign: RED LIPS, HOOPS ON, INVINCIBLE at @elawc on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter and follow the hashtag #RLHOI  as we dispel the myths and negativity that is often shared regarding women who wear red lipstick and hoop earrings and will instead focus on tradition, pride and sense of empowerment. We reiterate that regardless if a person is an immigrant, janitor, woman of color, sex worker, is underage, LGBTQ, or a survivor - sexual violence is never justified.

You may also start a Fundraiser on Facebook by using your "Create Post" function and then clicking on "Support Nonprofit" and add our full name: East Los Angeles Women's Center. To start a fundraiser contact [email protected]

4) Book a Virtual Guest Speaker - Our trained case workers and therapists can join your training or workshop and discuss: Domestic Violence 101, Sexual Assault 101, Women's Health (HIV), Stress Management, Grounding Techniques and Mindfulness, ESD Self Defense Workshops and more!
