Be a part of our annual tradition. Light a candle and walk with us as we honor and remember lives lost to domestic violence, support, survivors today, and inspire change for future generations.
For 48 years, East Los Angeles Women’s Center has been a place of peace and refuge for women and families who have entered our doors looking for answers, hope, and justice, where their silence is heard. Our work is only possible thanks to our service providers, staff, advocates, promotoras, and supporters who believe in us to be a vessel of change, providing culturally specific services and solutions to the community.
Domestic violence or intimate partner violence is defined as a pattern of abusive behavior in a relationship by one partner, with the intent of gaining or maintaining power and control over another person. Domestic violence can be physical, sexual, emotional, economic, or psychological actions or threats of actions that impact another person.
