Let's get creative!
Protest art, in its many forms, has existed throughout the world since the 1500s- an important tool for individuals to express their beliefs and values in a universal, affordable manner.
Participants will have the opportunity for a guided protest-sign making workshop with Xicana Artist, Maritza Torres, in light of domestic violence awareness month. Complete with a brief history of the art inspiration of past movements with guest speaker Purple, Co-Founder of the WOC Sister Collective, who will be updating us on the work of the Women's movement in Mexico.
Finished signs will be used during our virtual Mujeres de Paz Virtual Vigil on October 29, 2020
